OCP Delegation Holds Historic Meeting With Patriarch Ignatius Ephraim II at Puthencruz (Kerala, India)

India/Kerala/ Puthencruz: The Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society delegation met with His Holiness Ignatius Ephraim II – Patriarch on the Apostolic See of St Peter in Antioch and All East at Puthencruz – headquarters of the Syriac Orthodox Church in India. The meeting took place on 7th February 2015 which was the first day of his apostolic visit to Malankara.
OCP Delegation shared their concern on pan-orthodox unity with Patriarch and submitted a written request as well. The delegation presented Patriarch with the first ever Indian icon of St Peter and St Thomas, with a special gift of Seyfo 2015, a traditional oil lamp (Nilavilakku) and a personal copy of the pan-orthodox publication titled ‘Collected Writings on orthodox Christianity.
OCP Society made history by becoming the first Pan-Orthodox organization to hold meeting with Patriarch Ignatius Ephraim I in India.
The Patriarch was happy to receive the OCP delegation appreciated the organizations commitment towards pan-orthodox unity. The Patriarch also thanked the delegation for their love, respect and care.
The delegation was led by K C Jacob (Chairman) and accompanied by George Alexander (Secretary), Varghese John Thottapuzha (Director- Dept. of Publications), Ajesh T Phillip (OCP Delegate of Indian Sub-continent and Chief Project Coordinator- MARP) Vipin Varghese (Director- Dept. of Public Relations) and Shijo Mathew (OCP Associate).
