Cummins Theological Seminary President, Dr. Julius Barnes, is pleased to announce the appointment of John G. Panagiotou as the Lecturer in New Testament Greek at the seminary beginning this fall.  John is a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University and St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary.  He is a noted theologian, scholar and writer specializing in New Testament studies and Church History.  In 1992, he was ordained into the Greek Orthodox ministry.  Over the last decade, since leaving active pastoral ministry, he is the owner and founder of Zeon Financial Group which focuses on providing financial services and retirement solutions.

 

As a noted theologian, John’s recent review of Collected Writings on Orthodox Christianity: Various Aspects of Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches Alexander, George, editor; OCP Publications: Kerala, India (Second Edition, June 2016) has been featured several places including the OCP Media Network.

 

When asked about the addition, Dr. Barnes shared, “This is the caliber of theological education that Cummins is seeking to bring to the Charleston Metropolitan area.  We are beyond blessed to have John as a part of the Cummins family. This is the first of several major developments we anticipate introducing over the next couple years.”
